Corrugated box introduction:

Corrugated boxes have become the most widely used packaging containers in today's packaging. Whether it is production or living materials, whether it is transport packaging or sales packaging, corrugated boxes play an important role. The compressive strength of the corrugated box is mainly determined by the side pressure strength, adhesive strength and box structure of the right corrugated board. In addition, it is subject to the shape of the box, production process, printing, ambient temperature and humidity and other factors. Among them, the influence of environmental humidity on the strength of corrugated box is more prominent.

 

Mechanical properties of corrugated board under different humidity conditions:

1.The lower the relative humidity of the environment, the smaller the puncture strength of corrugated cardboard, which is because the paper fiber becomes brittle at low humidity; in the high humidity range, the greater the environmental humidity, the smaller the puncture strength, because the paper fiber becomes wet after it becomes wet. Loose and reduced strength.

2.The effect of relative humidity on the edge strength of corrugated box decreases with increasing humidity. Because the moisture content of the paperboard increases with the increase of the environmental humidity, the cellulose in the corrugated cardboard gradually becomes loose after moisture absorption, and the moisture absorption rate of the paper and the core paper of the corrugated paperboard is different, resulting in the pressure bearing process. The deformation rate is different.

3. The bond strength of corrugated box is significantly reduced as the relative humidity of the environment increases. Because corrugated board bonding adhesives are mostly water-soluble starch-based adhesives. As the ambient humidity increases, the amount of moisture absorbed by the binder increases and the viscosity decreases. The decrease in the bond strength of the corrugated board also has a greater impact on the reduction of the compressive strength of the corrugated box.

 

The mechanical properties of corrugated box are obviously affected by the relative humidity of the environment.
